Offshore Insurance Unit (OIU)
OIU refers to a government-supported initiative that provides tax incentives and other inducements, enabling insurers to offer innovative insurance products and services to offshore legal entities and individuals.
About the applicant
Eligibility requires:
- Must hold a nationality other than R.O.C. (Taiwan)
- Must not possess a valid R.O.C. (Taiwan) Residence Permit
Required Documents
- A valid foreign passport
- A second form of photo identification (e.g., national ID card, driver’s license, or other documents verifying nationality, place of origin, or permanent residency)
- Proof of residential address (e.g., a utility bill showing a foreign address)
- Proof of entry into R.O.C. (Taiwan) within the past 6 months (The insurance application documents must be signed within the period of stay.)
Payment Methods
- Bank Remittance:Transfer to Cathay Life's OBU (Offshore Banking Unit) account
- Bank Transfer: Automatic transfer from your designated foreign currency deposit account at banks designated by Cathay Life.
